Tabung Harapan Malaysia Collections Fully Spent

Putrajaya has completely used the RM205.5 million accumulated in the Tabung Harapan Malaysia to offset the debts and obligations of 1MDB.

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng (right) said the RM61.7 million used on November 28 to fund interest payments for the state investment firm’s Islamic bonds effectively exhausted the fund accumulated via public donations and interest.

The ministry previously used portions of the fund to offset earlier interest payments, pay off bounced cheques, and refund misplaced contributions.

Lim went on to say that 1MDB still owed RM50.5 billion inclusive of interest payments, and was only expected to fully repay this in 2039.

Thanks a lot, Najib Razak, for getting us into debt!

Yesterday, I was back in KL Sentral to attend the MIDA Toastmasters meeting. They are one of the very few clubs in Malaysia whose members are blessed with excellent meeting facilities and therefore, they can certainly expect an excellent meeting ambiance:

And they make sure too that we don't leave on an empty stomach!

Anyway, I was a speech evaluator and thanks to club president Maya Kavitha, I also delivered a CC#2 Organize Your Speech titled Speak Up and Speak Out and this was for my Competent Communication manual #63:

As you may or may not know, I am working to complete 5 CC manuals – and I have already finished two (i.e. twenty speeches) thus far. Not to mention that I am also gearing up to finish 5 speeches from an Advanced manual, Special Occasion Speeches.

For those who know me, I love making speeches, especially instantaneous speeches! And I love public speaking! Toastmasters, if you don't already know, always offer me ample opportunities to speak, speak and speak!

BTW, the meeting was graced by their Senior Executive Director, Ahmad Khairuddin A Rahim. It was good to see management support for Toastmasters.
