Targeting the Filipino Community

This year, at World Speech Day, we had 8 Filipinos resident in Malaysia taking part in our inaugural event in Kuala Lumpur.

In recognition of their participation, I have developed 2 posters especially targeted at this community. Certainly, I am hoping even more Filipinos will speak at next year’s edition of World Speech Day!

I was at the Shah Alam Toastmasters meeting this evening – where I took up multiple roles.

I was a project speaker – I presented a CC#4 speech titled The Lethologica Curse and I was evaluated by the Division B Evaluation champion.

Zarina Abu Bakar was spot-on with her feedback and I accept that I have much to learn before I can even consider myself a good speaker. That’s what being a Toastmaster is all about – we are continuously learning and recognizing that we will just have to work diligently to improve our oratory skills.

In addition, I was a speech evaluator for two new members, Ruziana and Dr Hamzah.

‘Twas an outstanding meeting because all 5 speeches tonight were absorbing, enthralling and riveting. Truly, I enjoyed all of them.

Indeed, we are blessed to have good speakers in our fold.
