Government Seeks RM1.69b Taxes from Najib Razak

My April 02, 2019 post had mentioned about Najib Razak’s tax bill amounting to RM1.47 billion, due to the Inland Revenue Board over his undeclared income for the assessment years 2011 to 2017.

The former prime minister (left) had ignored IRB’s initial inquiry of additional tax assessments in March this year, resulting in a 10% hike of RM147 million in April and another compounded 5% hike of RM80 million in May.

Given his non-response, the government filed a lawsuit on June 25 seeking RM1.69 billion in tax payments which Najib still owed the IRB.

Theedgemarkets.com reported Thursday that the exact amount was RM1,692,872,924.83 and not including cost and any relief deemed appropriate by the court, according to court documents sighted.

I am certain Malaysians are delighted to hear that the authorities are not letting Najib get off scot-free on the wealth he had accumulated – that included the “RM2.6 billion donation”.

BTW, Najib should be branded a traitor. In 2013, he himself had declared that those who evaded paying taxes are traitors:

Yesterday, I had a meeting at Impiana KLCC Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on WSD matters and it looks like we may see Seberang Perai in Penang also hosting World Speech Day next year – details of which will be revealed in due time.

Thanks to Aussie company TAE Aerospace’s Ray Bissett and Rea V Relota for the fortuity to collaborate.

Meanwhile I also took the opportunity to do a ‘demo’ (impromptu) speech – a CC#2:

Here’s me sharing some photos I took @ Club Lounge, Level 15:
