Day 26: Najib Razak Was THE Government

On Day 26, Najib Razak's defence team clashed with former SRC International chairperson Ismee Ismail (left) over whether the company's board of directors conflated the term "prime minister" with "government".

The war of words on Monday between the 39th witness and defense counsel Harvinderjit Singh transpired when the lawyer referred the former to Paragraph 22 of his 6-page witness statement recorded by the MACC.

Ismee had equated the word "government" to "Najib" (right) – and which I concur with him.

But Harvinderjit argued that the government is not the prime minister and decisions go through a whole "machinery".

I also agree. Indeed, there was a "machinery" as he put it.

Najib the 1MDB Chairperson and SRC International emeritus adviser would ask Najib the Finance Minister for approval who would in turn ask Najib the Prime Minister for endorsement.

Meaning, Najib wholly represented the government!

None of his cabinet members needed to know about anything related to 1MDB. They only needed to "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil".

If any of them tried to be too clever, they would be given the boot – ask Muhyddin Yassin and Shafie Apdal if anybody still has any doubt.

Najib was a law unto himself. And that was why he got away with murder.
