Liverpool Demolish Barcelona

Liverpool produced an incredible comeback and booked their place in the Champions League final by demolishing Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield on Tuesday night. 

The Reds tasked with overturning a 3-0 scoreline in the second leg of their semi-final against the Catalans and additionally, hampered with a spate of injuries in the build-up, most notably to Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah – rose superbly to the occasion and qualified for Madrid in spectacular fashion.
















Divock Origi scored within seven minutes in an astonishingly intense opening salvo. 

Trent Alexander-Arnold created Gini Wijnaldum’s first goal by winning the ball back high up the pitch and firing a wicked low cross into the box for the Dutchman to slam home in the fifty-fourth minute. 

One hundred and twenty-two seconds later, Xherdan Shaqiri whipped in the cross for Wijnaldum to power home his second goal. 

And Alexander-Arnold set up the winner with a sensational piece of quick thinking when he picked out Origi with a superb low corner for the Belgian to finish in the seventy-ninth minute, catching the entire Barcelona defense off guard. 

This time, Jurgen Klopp got every single decision absolutely spot on to mastermind one of the all-time iconic Champions League performances and take Liverpool to a second consecutive Champions League final. Even more astonishing, he has won every single two-leg European knockout tie as Liverpool manager.
