DAP-Pakatan Harapan Win in Sandakan By-election

Yesterday, DAP's Vivian Wong emerged victorious in the Sandakan by-election, picking up a 11,521-majority win in taking the seat that her father held until his passing in March.

In the process, she helped to snap the run of three consecutive by-election losses suffered by Pakatan Harapan, i.e. Cameron Highlands, Semenyih and Rantau.

Wong polled 16,012 votes, while PBS's Linda Tsen managed only 4,491 votes. The three independent candidates Hamzah Abdullah, Chia Siew Yung and Sulaiman Abdul Samat obtained 788, 176 and 126 votes respectively.

In case you still want to experience the Greatest Anfield Comeback again! Inside Anfield: Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona:

Like all Liverpool fans everywhere, I am keeping my fingers crossed today – praying and hoping and wishing we can wrest the EPL title from champions Manchester City on the final day, i.e. Sunday.

It has been a very tight race – with neither side having lost a league game since January.

In fact, the title lead has changed hands a record 32 times – the Reds need to make that 33 to win the league.

Liverpool have not won the league since 1990.

They can change that if the Champions League finalists beat seventh-placed Wolves and Manchester City drop points against 17th-placed Brighton & Hove Albion. A draw would only be enough if Citizens were beaten by at least four goals.

Neither of the title chasers' final-day opponents have anything left to play for. Wolves are guaranteed seventh spot, which will be enough for a Europa League place if Manchester City beat Watford in the FA Cup final and the Seagulls are safe from relegation, sitting five points above Cardiff City.
