Avengers: Endgame Powers to $2.5 Billion in Ticket Sales Worldwide

According to Box Office Mojo, ticket sales for Avengers: Endgame as at May 14, 2019 powered to $2,508,890,353 worldwide. It took just nineteen days.

And this movie sensation now has Avatar (left) in its sights.

Last Thursday, Forbes’ Mark Hughes who writes about films, especially superhero films, & Hollywood had already declared: “It's already inevitable that Endgame will surpass Avatar and claim the crown as the highest-grossing movie in cinema history”.

In case you didn’t know, it took the James Cameron sci-fi epic seven weeks to cross $2 billion, while the Marvel Studios’ movie reached the $2.5 billion milestone in even less than half that time!

For sure, The Avengers: Endgame hype machine is still going strong – and The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon has this video of the entire cast of Endgame to sum up the entire Marvel franchise by singing their own superhero version of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire".

Joel’s original 1989 No. 1 hit had the singer dispensing headline news from 1949, the year of his birth, to 1989. Fallon repurposes the song:

It’s a terrific little way to recap the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, and it was made even better by ending with a montage of the late, great Stan Lee, who may not have started the fire – but certainly made sure Marvel’s flame continues to burn brightly.
