Malaysia’s King Abdicates the Throne

Istana Negara has finally issued a statement, announcing that Sultan Muhammad V (left) resigned as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong effective yesterday – in accordance to Article 32(3) of the Federal Constitution.

[Note: The constitutional article states that the King may at any time resign his office by writing to the Conference of Rulers or be removed from office by the Conference of Rulers].

I guess the newly-weds wish to spend quality time together. And that’s cool.

Meanwhile, the Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yaakub (right) had said the state government – meaning he – had not received any official notification about the King’s abdication.

He added that he had to depend on ‘informal information’ and that he accepted the King's decision. LOL, as if anybody gives a damn whether he agrees or not. Somebody please remind him that he has absolutely no say in the matter!

Aquaman, it seems, is doing very well at the box office.

And do you know that this movie was directed by Sarawak-born James Wan?

The 2018 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name is another definite blockbuster.

Don't expect any path-breaking surprises in Aquaman’s storytelling – but what's wonderful was the presentation. I thought it is spectacular as it is refreshing.

As at January 06, 2019, Aquaman has earned nearly $260 million in North America and $681 million overseas, which is a record-high overseas cut for DC Films.

Watch Jason Momoa performs the Maori haka chant at the December 21, 2018 Hawaii premiere of "Aquaman" in a nod to his roots:

I expect international box office receipts to go through the roof!
