Abandon Ship

The UMNO exodus continues.

Cheras UMNO division chief Syed Ali Al-Habshee has bowed out from the party, Sinar Harian reported yesterday.

On September 19, 2018, Kimanis MP Anifah Aman too announced his resignation from the once long-ruling Malay nationalist party.

And a day earlier, Jeli MP Mustapa Mohamed on Tuesday quit UMNO where he was a member for forty years plus.

These three are influencers. And they will surely create a domino effect  therefore, I won't be surprised if UMNO members abandon ship.

Just counting only MPs, altogether five UMNO parliamentarians had checked out since GE14. Anifah, Mustapa and the other three who exited earlier: Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, Bukit Gantang MP Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal, and Bagan Serai MP Noor Azmi Ghazali.

That leaves only 49 federal lawmakers remaining in UMNO. And they have the same number as rival PKR. (Note: DAP come in third with 42 MPs).

As each day passes, UMNO are becoming more and more ineffectual and irrelevant.

I certainly expect more big names to forsake UMNO. And even members are expected to desert the party en masse.

Truly, UMNO have become an albatross around members' necks. They really should avoid being in the same party with corruption-tainted Najib Razak and his co-conspirators. I say, protect your honor and reputation!

UMNO are beyond redemption!

Last evening, I was at the Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam in Jalan Damansara, KL, where I was invited to the Speakers’ Dream Toastmasters Club meeting.

I was the General Evaluator. I also delivered an Advanced speech from the Speaking to Inform manual – speech #2 Resources for Informing titled “Saga Seeds”.

This was my 625th project speech todate. Btw, I was voted Best Project Speaker.

It also coincided with the Mid-Autumn Festival and mooncakes made a timely appearance too!
