The Mufti from Perlis is Crass and Crude

Perlis Mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin (left) is crass and crude.

He is so full of enmity and hostility to the LGBT community that every chance he gets, he mocks them.

He is, supposedly, a man of God but he spits out words that are abrasive, biting and caustic.

He told transgenders Monday to use their biological sex to determine which gender’s toilet to use – amid debate over lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights in the country.

He took to Facebook to dismiss the furore over the matter and appeared to taunt those insisting on using the restrooms of genders other than that of their birth.

“I would like to suggest that if any individual is confused, it is recommended he meets an expert to examine him while he urinates to determine the origin of the urine”.

He wrote on his Facebook page: “If it exits from a male organ, then use the men’s toilet. If it exits from a woman’s genitals, then please use the women’s toilet”.

Then he added: “If nothing comes out at all or if it does not come out from either male or female genitals, then please go to the hospital. If the doctors say you are disabled, then you can use the disabled toilet”.

The ignoramus has zero empathy. Shame, shame, shame!

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Fuziah Salleh (left) said yesterday, the transgender community can use toilets for the disabled – as a temporary measure. At least until Malaysian society can be fully accepting.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea either. I don't think acceptance will come anytime soon – at best, they are tolerated. Barely tolerated.

Last evening, I was at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort in Petaling Jaya, Selangor – for the Crystal Toastmasters meeting.

Aida Ang who was the Toastmaster-of-the-Evening had invited me as the meeting's General Evaluator. As always, a wonderful meeting was had by all.

Indeed, Crystal Toastmasters are a roomful of sparkling gems that glitter with grace and gentility. More importantly, they have been beacons of quiet inspiration since 1998. That explains why their members always shine bright.
