Patriot Seek Answers

The National Patriots Association are seeking answers to the unexplained issues pertaining to both military intelligence DMI and Najib Razak’s covert intelligence MIEO.

Yesterday, Patriot president Brig-Gen (Rtd) Mohamed Arshad Raji (right) urged the chief of defence forces to investigate the role played by the director of military intelligence in allegedly drumming up support for former PM Najib ahead of the May 09 general election.

Three weeks after GE14, which saw Pakatan Harapan triumphant, Arshad said Patriot had received “incriminating WhatsApp messages” on the role of the office of the Department of Military Intelligence, including claims that they actively worked to shore up support for Najib. This included the deployment of the cyber defence operation center to monitor phone calls, social media, and emails that were deemed to be in opposition to the then-BN government.

He also wanted responses over whether military facilities had been used to engage in “covert propaganda activities” to discredit opposition political parties and opposition politicians during the run-up to the said election.

He had already demanded the director’s resignation in the event that the allegations were proven – but as of today, the former lamented that the latter is still holding on to his post.

He added that the DMI director has not denied the allegations made against him, neither has an investigation been made to establish the truth of the matter.

Arshad also ventilated the lack of action against Hasanah Abdul Hamid, the Director-General of the innocuous-sounding Research Division (or better known as MEIO) who wrote the letter to the CIA seeking their support to keep Najib in power.

He said it has been eleven days since Patriot made a police report against the “makcik” (left) and again, they’re still waiting for feedback.

“We are keen to know the status of our report, whether an investigation has been made, and if an arrest is necessary. We were told that Hasanah has resigned from her post and her whereabouts are unknown”.

I hope she is barred from leaving the country.

And Najib, of course, quickly distanced himself from the CIA letter. Chickenshit!

If silence persists, perhaps the Defence Minister and the Home Minister can kindly respond. Don't leave us hanging  it's rude.
