Day 20: Tabung Harapan Malaysia

Contributions continue to pour in – whether from individuals, organizations and/or companies.

I won’t list every donor because the list is really, really long – but I will highlight some of the more notable ones.

Many Taman Yarl residents brought their children to take part in the car wash. The Malaysian Insight pic by Seth Akmal, June 02, 2018.

Taman Yarl residents in Jalan Klang Lama, KL raised RM4,000 through a car wash fundraising.

Teachers and pupils of SJK (C) Yuk Choy in Ipoh, Perak rallied to raise RM10,500 over a 3-day period.

KL’s Taman Tun Dr Ismail Hawkers Welfare Association collected RM12,350 over a 10-day period from not just their members but also their customers who thronged the market.

The Cameron Highlands Taxi Drivers’ Association donated RM1,500.

And local fast food chain operator, Marrybrown donated RM200,000.

One Japanese embassy staffer gave RM2,020.

Amim Dental Surgery in Johor Bahru, Johor gave RM1 million.

So too Sabah’s Servay Hypermarket.

Even the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V has consented to have his allocations and emoluments reduced by 10 percent during his entire reign until 2021 – the deductions all going to the Fund.

As at 3.30 PM today, the total monies accumulated for Tabung Harapan Malaysia have grown to almost RM88.4 million.
