UMNO's 3 Weaknesses

Slowly but surely, the political elites are gearing up for GE14.

DAP’s Kluang MP Liew Chin Tong listed three fundamental weaknesses in UMNO that he claimed will cause the party’s downfall. At least, he and his DAP members wished so.

Of course, the UMNO President is in this list. The “Najib Razak factor” is the first weakness of UMNO despite his popularity in 2013.

“In the 2013 general election, the Najib brand was more popular than Barisan Nasional and UMNO. Liew said Najib’s popularity was consistent at 60% up until 2015 when the 1MDB scandal surfaced.

Today, Najib’s approval rating is at about 30%.

Liew: “When voters walk into the polling booth in the next election, they know that the prime minister has taken money into his personal bank account and that matters a lot”.

The non-Malay factor is the second weakness.

“Since 2005, when UMNO vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein waved the keris and UMNO turned to the right, non-Malays have no love for UMNO".

Liew: “In the 2008 and 2013 elections, it has been shown across the board that non-Malay voters had rejected UMNO and BN”.

He is confident that “in the coming election, as long as Pakatan Harapan can prove to all Malaysians that their interests will be taken care of, most of the non-Malays will continue to vote for PH”.

Liew pointed out economic discontent as the third fundamental weakness of UMNO.

He said: “The Najib government has consistently refused to acknowledge that ordinary Malaysians are living in economic hardship.

As Liew rightly pointed out even as Najib boasted that UMNO will rule for a thousand years – that didn’t reflect the reality; it didn’t reflect what ordinary Malaysians feel.

Is Liew suggesting that GE14 will install a new government or is he just sharing his opinions for a DAP audience?

I do agree with him – but we must remember that not ALL Malaysians are smart and can think.

So, can PH capture Putrajaya this time around? In Malaysians, we trust.

I am keeping the faith. I am optimistic. I am believing.

I was just checking out YouTube and I came across this animation video – and which I am sharing here:

This can be a good speech, hehe!

No, no, no – I am not talking about dating – but the workings of the brain!
