People in Boxes

We live in a time where we love to put people in boxes. Maybe we have more in common than what we think?

All That We Share” – a very powerful ad for Danish television station TV 2 where folks from varying backgrounds (city-dweller, farmer, wealthy, middle-class) were segregated into boxes taped onto the floor.
Responding to questions posed by a mediator, members to whom the question was relevant moved out of their box and in with others who also responded positively.
Each person quickly learned that they had more in common with others than not, incorporating an important message of tolerance, understanding and perhaps even friendship.
On Sunday, substitute Moussa Dembele scored a hat-trick (61 pen, 75, 85) as Celtic came from behind to beat St Johnstone 5-2 and go 27 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Unbeatable.
Two days earlier, I was at the Greyhound Café in KL’s Jalan Bukit Bintang for the Liquid Gold Advanced Toastmasters meeting.

As usual, great sharing through speeches and evaluations. More importantly, learning about our differences and learning acceptance.

I presented a CC #4 speech titled "The Silent Death". This is CC round #41.
