Donald Trump's Hoax Theory on Climate Change

The one single thing I am really distressed about President-elect Trump (left) is his damnatory desire to "cancel" the Paris Climate Agreement.

He has vowed that within 100 days of taking office, he will do everything in his power to reverse climate change regulations introduced by President Barack Obama.

Trump has repeatedly denied the science of human-caused climate change, describing it as "fictional' and arguing that it is an expensive hoax created by the Chinese to make US manufacturing less competitive.

I am consoled by the fact that there are "legal and procedural roadblocks" which would inhibit Trump from a complete overhaul of US climate policy – and The New York Times even says, the US remains legally bound to the Paris plan for four years. Still, the paper says, Trump "could significantly weaken or slow them down".

Critics say his stance could cause other reluctant governments skeptical about the climate conundrum to curtail their commitments to cut planet-warming emissions.

We will just have to wait and see what Trump actually does. We don't have a choice.

On Monday evening, I was at Jalan Kelab Tropicana, Pinggiran Golf Saujana in Petaling Jaya to attend the Crystal Toastmasters meeting. I was a speech evaluator.

Overall, it was a good meeting. Good as in quality. In all aspects.

It is nice to know that some things in Toastmasters don’t change!
