Lawyer and activist Siti Kasim highlighted a pic of plastic gun-toting children in military fatigues as well as other pics on her Facebook page on Tuesday.
Apparently these photos were on Instagram posted by a teacher from Tadika Bistari, a kindergarten in PJ’s Kota Damansara. As she said: “In a pre-school? WTF is she teaching??”
In her posting, Siti had alleged that the teachers were from Kolej University Darul Quran Islamiah in Kubang Lembek, Manir, Kuala Terengganu in Terengganu. She had also claimed it was a branch of the Jemaah Islamiyah militant group.
It seems that Malaysian police are already aware of it. Bukit Aman Special Branch director Fuzi Harun confirmed to Malay Mail yesterday that the kindergarten has been under police radar since last year.
Still, this is really alarming. In fact, Fuzi had said that police managed to foil an attempt by IS militants to set up a child terrorist training center locally in January!
Moreover, he had admitted that there were cases as far back as 2012, where brainwashed parents brought their children along to child terrorist training centers in Syria and Iraq to be indoctrinated.
Militant Islam is becoming a real threat in this country.
I was in KL’s TTDI last evening where I had hoped to deliver a speech. I was to be disappointed because no speaking slots were available.
Anyway, it was nice that the TTDI Toastmasters Club gave me the task to evaluate a CC#9 speech – for which I was voted Best Evaluator.
I was also conscripted to take part in the impromptu speaking session – and again, I was voted Best Table Topics Speaker.
Overall, it was a good meeting and with a good turnout too – with twenty-seven members and guests in attendance.
