Mahathir-Najib Lawsuits

Yesterday, former PM Mahathir Mohamad applied for a court order to freeze Najib Razak’s assets pending the disposal of his lawsuit against the prime minister. [You may read about it at this post].
In his application filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, the former had listed the type of assets held by Najib or the latter’s nominees which he wanted the court to freeze, including properties, cash, shares up to the value of RM2.6 billion, or any other value that the court deems fair.
He also asked for a court order to get Najib to declare and to provide details of all his assets within 10 days of the order. The disclosure of Najib’s assets should be done in a sworn statement and should also include assets that may be held by his nominees, the application said.
Mahathir is still pointing his Smith & Wesson Model 29 and blasting away at Najib!
On the same day too, Najib filed an application to strike out the suit filed on March 23, 2016 by Mahathir and two others on the grounds that there were no elements of tort misfeasance as claimed by the three plaintiffs.
And the courts become a battleground.
I was at the Wiseed Meeting Center in PJ’s Merchant Square on Tuesday for the Friendship Toastmasters meeting – to deliver my CC #3 speech titled “Learning Social Skills” – this is my thirty-fifth round. And I was voted Best Assignment Speaker!
There was this intriguing situation whereby a newbie who has not started on her CC speeches was tasked to evaluate another newbie who presented her Ice Breaker. I am not sure why the former was given the role because in most clubs, an experienced Toastmaster would be picked to do the evaluation.
