DAP, in the latest Lunar New Year parody video, has taken a swipe at PM Najib Razak's RM2.6 billion donation. The video, entitled "God of Fortune: Special Edition", was released on YouTube on Friday, aimed at gathering support for the Sarawak state election.
It featured Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua and Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching with a God of Prosperity character, whose efforts to give out “angpows” (red packets) are eclipsed by an Arab-looking man holding a cheque worth RM2.6 billion addressed to the Malaysian prime minister.
People are seen rushing past the God of Prosperity and crowding around the Arab donor, who hands out money to them. At one point, Teo is also seen sporting a handbag and a large diamond ring.
"As we do not get 'donations' from mysterious Arab donors, we count on the support of ordinary Malaysians to help us make our dreams come true," they said. "May Sarawak become the stepping stone to greater changes for Malaysia".
The video also hit out at the Goods and Services Tax implemented last year, showing Pua dressed as a homeless man with the God of Prosperity, who is now out of a job, while Teo, holding up a placard that reads "GST", and collects money from their begging bowls.
On Saturday, Celtic beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3-0 to move six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Gary Mackay-Steven opened the scoring in the fifty-fourth minute followed by Leigh Griffiths five minutes later. And then, Griffiths fired a third (90+3) – the Scotland striker's 32nd goal in an increasingly impressive season.

A friend from Brock University in Toronto, Canada, Peter Yannopoulos was in town for an academic conference today and tomorrow. And we arranged to meet up on Sunday.

We were at Healy Mac’s Irish Bar & Restaurant @ Publika in Jalan Solaris Dutamas 1, KL.

We both chose Heineken and grilled fillet of salmon. Good choices. And we had a great conversation too.

And today is Toastmasters International founder Ralph C Smedley's birthday! He was born in 1878, in case you're interested to know.
