Johor Sultan Warns Racists and Haters

As red-clad government supporters and paid minions take to the streets of Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia Day in a show of strength, the Sultan of Johor had, in no uncertain terms, ordered racists and haters to get out of his state.

In a posting on his Facebook page shortly after midnight on September 16, 2015, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar said “there is no place for hatred and racism here in Johor Darul Ta’zim. It was never welcomed, nor will I ever welcome haters and racists here in Johor”.

The monarch added: "If anyone who want to practice hatred and racism in Johor Darul Ta’zim, the home of the Malays, Chinese and Indians – Bangsa Johor, please leave Johor immediately. That is an order!"

Does this mean that the Red Shirts who hail from Johor will have to find a new home? Will Ahmad Maslan who is MP for Pontian be amongst those who must now leave the state?

And what about Ashikin Yunus (left) – another rally-goer who is also from Johor – who screamed: "You need to understand, this is our land, orang Melayu punya!" and then spat racist venom at DAP’s Lim Kit Siang and Bersih.

I say, action speaks louder than words. I shall wait and see if these two get thrown out of the state.

On Saturday morning, I was in Bankers Club in Jalan Imbi, KL to deliver a CC #9 speech titled “Pet Peeves” at the MIMKL Toastmasters meeting. Two speakers had pulled out and I secured a speaking slot as a result. Amongst the five members who spoke, I was voted Best Assignment Speaker.

I also took up the last-minute role of Table Topics Master and Thashaayiny Thanga Velu, a fellow Toastmaster from Sunway University Toastmasters Club participated and was voted Best Table Topics Speaker. I am proud of her!

Overall, a good meeting and I am scoring it a 7 over 10.
