Free Anwar Petition

The petition titled 'Make the Release of Malaysian Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim from Prison a Top Priority for US Policy Toward Malaysia' – which was submitted to the White House on February 10, 2015 – needed 100,000 signatures in order to receive a response from President Barack Obama’s administration.

Well, we did it! The Free Anwar petition has received 109,265 signatures at the time of writing.

I was at the Taman Indrahana Toastmasters Club meeting yesterday and participated in both the International Speech and Table Topics contests. I didn’t do that badly – I was first runner-up for the former and champion for the latter. I – together with the champion – will now represent the said Club at the Area D2 contest on March 28, 2015.

On Sunday, Dundee United drew 1-1 with Celtic to earn a Scottish Cup quarter-final replay.

South of the border, on that day too, the story was the same – when Liverpool were left frustrated by Championship side Blackburn Rovers who defended heroically to draw 0-0 at Anfield and force a replay in their FA Cup quarter-final.
