On Top of the World for 106 Months

Nicol David tells us: "Being number one is something you have to earn every day".
You’d better believe it because yesterday, this world champion (left) set a new record for topping the world rankings when she secured the leading spot for the 106th month.

The Malaysian superstar, who first headed the Women's Squash Association (WSA) list in January 2006, overtook the 105-month record set in February 1993 by Susan Devoy, the four-time world champion from New Zealand.

David celebrated her world record in style by cruising into the semi-finals of the Cleveland Classic she defeated world No. 6 Egypt's Nour El Tayeb 11-3, 11-6, 11-8 in the quarter-finals.
Amazing. Awesome. Awe-inspiring. That's Nicol David!

Celtic eased to a 2-0 victory over Rangers to set up a Scottish League Cup final with Dundee United. In the first match between the sides since April 2012, Leigh Griffiths nodded Celtic in front on 10 minutes, with Kris Commons adding a powerful strike from 20 yards in the thirty-first minute.
