Khalid Ibrahim Gets the Sack

Khalid Ibrahim (left) has been given the boot. Finally.

And his reign as Menteri Besar of Selangor may come to an unceremonious end now that his party has decided to sack him.

Obstinate Khalid had resisted the PKR’s central committee’s decision after a July 21 meeting where party leaders had unanimously agreed to appoint Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the next Selangor Menteri Besar. Even with this decision, Khalid had remained defiant and issued a statement the following day saying he was not going to quit, a decision he has held firmly to up till this day.

Despite Saturday’s tumultuous development, Khalid has the legal right to appeal against his sacking within the next 14 days.

I bet you recalcitrant Khalid still won’t leave – he is likely to go crying to the Sultan and plead his case. He will gripe, grouse and grumble.

In any case, his sacking from PKR provided PAS with an escape clause to agree to Wan Azizah's appointment without a big loss of face.

The Sunway University Toastmasters Club meeting on Thursday evening was again not very well-attended because of the semester break for university students. But I am glad we still managed to secure a decent attendance. We saw a total of 41 people turning up for the meeting. I am likely to sound like a broken record because again, speeches and evaluations were amazingly awesome. A predictable 8 over 10 score for this meeting.
