MCA, Hudud and UMNO

MCA are sinking into the quicksand of hudud politics.

Wanita MCA chief Heng Seai Kie (left) had the audacity to demand that UMNO Cabinet ministers who openly declared their support for PAS’ hudud initiative to be dealt with by the BN top brass. She was referring to Minister in the Prime Minister Department Jamil Khir and the International Trade and Industry minister Mustapa Mohamed.

The duo had also expressed their willingness to participate in a technical committee that is tasked to review the implementation of hudud in Kelantan.

She shouldn't be rude and ignore Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin (left). She could've scolded him too because he was the one who actually proposed the setting up of this national level technical committee in the first place.

And maybe she should add Prime Minister Najib Razak to the list since he would have known about Muhyiddin’s proposal too. And Najib is bound to have given his blessings to the technical committee.

So if UMNO are in favor of hudud – shouldn't MCA be trading barbs with UMNO rather than getting worked up with DAP? Maybe, this is an opportune time for MCA to quit Barisan Nasional? Just blame it on hudud.

I forgot. I am sorry for even making this suggestion. MCA want government positions, so they have to stick it out with UMNO, come what may.

On Wednesday, I was at the Air Products Toastmasters meeting in KL’s Bangsar South where I had secured a speaking slot. And so, I delivered CC speech #2 titled “Perseverance” and my evaluator was Haji Hashim Adnan. This is Round 10 of Project 15. I would score this meeting a 5.5 over 10.

After this meeting, I went to Petaling Jaya to attend the Money Mastery Toastmasters Club and PJ Bilingual Toastmasters Club joint meeting. I particularly enjoyed two of the speeches one in Mandarin and the other in English and as for the meeting itself, I am happy to award it a 7 over 10 score.
