Sex Boycott Against Russia

Ukraine lost Crimea before it could even bat an eyelid. The Russians have really embarrassed Ukraine. And it would appear that if the latter is unable to stand up to the former militarily, the Ukrainians are trying the next best thing. Use sex as a weapon.

And so, a determined group of Ukrainian women have called for a sex boycott against Russian men. The Facebook group Don't Give it to a Russian was launched two weeks ago and calls on Ukraine's "female heroes" to "fight the enemy by whatever means". In this case, denying sex to Russian men!

The campaign was named after a verse from Kateryna, a poem by Ukrainian national hero Taras Shevchenko: "Fall in love, O dark-browed maidens, but not with the Moskaly (Russians)."

Katerina Venzhik, one of the organizers and chief editor of the news website Delo.UA, told The Independent: "We've used this campaign to draw attention to… Crimea… And yes, Ukrainian women prefer Ukrainian men."

I hope their men feel the same way too.

The sex boycott has been met with skepticism in Russia. And some Russians even called the women whores. Still, you do what you gotta do!

On Monday, I was at the KL Advanced Toastmasters meeting at Mercu UEM in KL Sentral and I was appointed the General Evaluator. The speeches and evaluations and even the Table Topics were laudable and that is what makes this club one of my favorites. They take things seriously and members are not afraid to speak their minds. This meeting started on time but they got carried away – by 11 minutes – toward the end. Still an enjoyable meeting. My score: 4.5 over 10.
