Lying Mahathir

Mahathir Mohamad (left) is a confirmed liar!
Remember some time back, he had denied responsibility for Ops Lalang – which saw more than 100 political leaders and social activists arrested and detained under the draconian Internal Security Act? He said he was in China during that time.
And then he embellished the story by alleging that Anwar Ibrahim played a key role in the operation as a member of the administration at that time.
He shut his trap when DAP’s Lim Kit Siang pointed out that in 1987, Mahathir was both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, which made him solely responsible for the detentions under Ops Lalang.
He did try but his mouth was not completely sealed because he offered a response. "Well, if I made a mistake, I made a mistake. I am an old man. I am 89-years-old, so I am prone to forgetting." That's his lame excuse anyway.
And then last month, his former deputy prime minister Musa Hitam came out to say that he wasn't responsible for the Memali massacre. He explained that this was because Mahathir was in charge as the then prime minister and he was in the country at that time (instead of China as was claimed). [You may wish to read more about it at this link].

On Thursday, Mahathir wrote in his blog and admitted that he was indeed in Malaysia at the time of the bloody Memali crackdown in 1985 – but he quickly stressed that the said episode took place under Musa's watch.
“The Inspector General of Police discussed and reported to him as the Home Minister. The Home Minister is also involved in making the decision on actions that needed to be taken…” (Blog page
Now, whether Musa was trying to evade responsibility is a question we have to address but the fact remains that the former prime minister had once again, shown Malaysians who he really is!
Mahathir is a perjurer. A prevaricator. A pathological liar. He has a terrible case of pseudologia fantastica. I try hard not to believe that he has evil motives. I would like to pretend to believe that he is suffering from this condition of wanting to tell fibs all the time and that he has no rational reason for doing so. For sure, he makes a habit out of lying.
It's Clubs & Socieites Week at Sunway University this week and of course, Sunway University Toastmasters Club participated.

A good way to spread the good news about Toastmasters! Marilyn Lai, Vice President Membership did a good job to organize the activity.
