AirAsia's Complete Nasi Lemak

Budget airlines AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines have been at each other’s throats for as long as I can remember. So I was not surprised when the former rubbed its hands in glee and decided to capitalize on the latter’s culinary joke in the matter of the seemingly tragic quality of nasi lemak served by MAS (Refer to my posting at this link http://helpvictor.blogspot.com/2014/02/naked-nasi-lemak.html).
AirAsia served a cheeky advertisement to promote its own version of the highly popular and famous Malaysian meal. “Our nasi lemak is COMPLETE!” screams the ad highlighting AirAsia’s breakfast combos, which is now being circulated online by amused netizens.
Accompanied by a large image of its Pak Nasser nasi lemak, it further boasts that the dish is served with special chili sambal, chicken rendang, fried anchovies with groundnuts, and a boiled egg.
But there’s no kangkung?
Last evening, I was at the See Hoy Chan office in Uptown 5, Damansara Utama to deliver a CC speech – an Ice-breaker titled “Life’s Lessons” – at the Phoenix Toastmasters meeting on Level 12. My evaluator was Lim Thian Seng (Taman Indrahana Toastmasters Club) and Round 3 got under way.
I dug the speeches and evaluations because they were illustrative, illuminating and insightful although my speech could have been better. Anyway, I am happy to score this meeting a 7.5 over 10.
I am thankful to Ahmad Ibrahim Rizal, Vice President Education for giving me the speaking slot. And also for entrusting me with two additional roles, i.e. speech evaluator and General Evaluator.
