Najib Razak's Cheap Shot

UMNO President (and Prime Minister) Najib Razak deliberately depreciated the stature of a great man when he said on December 07, 2013 at his party’s general assembly that UMNO fought for the “same cause” as Nelson Mandela!

What was his motive in wanting to devalue Madiba? How dare he insults Mandela and South Africa! And if I may be so bold as to ask, what same cause was he referring to?

Mandela opposed racial discrimination whereas in Malaysia, UMNO institutionalized racial discrimination. Mandela spurned the idea of black supremacy, but UMNO promotes Ketuanan Melayu (Malay supremacy). Mandela pursued reconciliation and worked hard to bring the races in his country together, whereas UMNO disunites the races in order to stay in power.

Please lah, Najib! Don’t exploit a good man’s name and equate it with UMNO! That was a very cheap shot!

Liverpool ran riot against Tottenham on Sunday. They were totally in control and they scored five to nothing in this one-sided match.

Luis Suarez, the captain for the day was at the focal point of every attack. It was fitting that he netted an 18th-minute opener with a precise finish into the bottom corner from Jordan Henderson's flick. The midfielder added a second after Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris had palmed away a Suarez shot and Henderson volleyed in (40).

The other three goals that added to Tottenham’s misery came in the second-half. Jon Flanagan smashed in off the bar for his first Liverpool goal in the seventy-fifth minute, before Suarez chipped in (84) and Raheem Sterling steered home a crisp shot (89).

This victory put the Reds back into second place in the EPL table.
