Pope Francis Wants Church to Heal Wounds

Pope Francis (left) called on the Catholic Church to end their obsession with abortion, gay people and contraception. He used the 12,000-word interview with La Civilta Cattolica, a Jesuit magazine to spread the message that the Church must show balance and "heal wounds". In other words, the Church should be more merciful.

He advised that the Church's moral edifice could "fall like a house of cards" unless it changed. Catholic enlightenment is finally here.

More than 100,000 people have died in the Syrian conflict, according to the UN, and millions have fled the country or been made homeless. Qadri Jamil, Syria's deputy prime minister says the country’s civil war has reached a stalemate with neither side strong enough to win.

So where should Syria be heading to? It looks like politics has to take center stage now.
