Smelly Venue for School Recess

I am so very lucky! I have been complaining about the state of Sunway University’s cafeteria. But now after having read on Facebook yesterday that students in a primary school were forced to use a makeshift dining room – the shower room that is located next to the toilets, I think I should stop whining!

Anyway, Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Pristana located in Jalan SP 2/1, Seri Pristana, Sungai Buloh, Selangor was in the middle of a social media storm when one mother, Guneswari Kelly made a Facebook posting with photographs at 5:30 PM on Monday about this smelly venue for recess, since the fasting month began on July 09.

The group of non-Muslim students were allegedly told to eat their food in the bathroom at their school, in order to respect ramadhan. Why so?

Isn’t fasting a test of faith? Besides, you never know what you're made of until temptation comes knocking. It is sad to note that there are Muslims whose faith is so frail, so feeble, so fragile.

Why is it that I keep hearing the likes of Ibrahim Ali, Hassan Ali, Riduhan Tee, Zulkifli Noordin and the others from the Bolehland zoo laughing away like crazed hyenas at the helplessness of the non- Muslims?

Last evening, I was in Jalan Barat to attend the Stamford College Toastmasters meeting. It was a small group of only eight people (not excluding two visiting Toastmasters) but I was heartened by the fact that the members were very enthusiastic and energized. I was evaluating a CC speech #2 and like the other two speakers, all of them showed promise.

Afterward, I fled to Lorong Utara B to attend the Taman Indrahana Toastmasters meeting. I didn’t want to miss the good speeches especially knowing that Kimberley Yeoh, Michael Kum and Karen Cheah were slated to deliver their speeches. In fact, all four speakers (including Tang Chee Yuun) impressed. And the evaluations were unsurpassed. A good meeting!
