DTM Recognition

This DHL pouch came in today and my colleague Chong Soon Meng was kind enough to personally hand it to me:

I have finally been awarded the  Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) recognition. This is the greatest honor that can be earned by a member of Toastmasters International (www.toastmasters.org).

I have been a Toastmaster for 5 years and 22 days. I have delivered 140 speeches in total (excluding Table Topics and contest speeches). I have done the CC manual ten times and completed eight Advanced manuals. I have been the club President twice (including the current term for Sunway University), Vice President Education twice (Taman Indrahana for 2010-2011 and Sunway University for 2012-2013), Vice President Membership twice (MIMKL for 2011-2012 and Taman Indrahana for 2012-2013) and Vice President Public Relations (KL Advanced for 2010-2011 and D'Utama Advanced also for 2010-2011). I have served as Area Governor G3 for 2011-2012 and Assistant Division Governor Marketing for Division B for 2012-2013. And I won District 51's Club Coach Excellence Award for 2011-2012 for the work I have done for Money & You Toastmasters Club.

Insofar as contests are concerned, I have been more than willing to give them a shot. Granted my best results are not good enough still I was the Division B Speech Evaluation contest first runner-up (2010-2011), Division B Table Topics contest first runner-up (2010-2011), Division G International Speech contest first runner-up (2010-2011) and Division G Humorous Speech contest second runner-up (2012-2013).

Indeed I have benefited so much from Toastmasters.

Congratulations Victor. DTM is a measure of your dedication and commitment to the TI Program. It is a wonderful achievement and one to be proud of. Your reputation and status in Toastmasters is enhanced by this award, and I'm very pleased that it has been awarded to someone I like and respect very much. May your next 5 years and 22 days be as fulfilling.
