Nurul Izzah's Ban is Lifted

According to Sabah police commissioner Hamza Taib, the ban on Nurul Izzah Anwar from entering Sabah has been lifted.

Comedy Kao Kao must be having a show there because everybody is trying very hard to be funny!

Just the day before, Sabah state assembly deputy speaker Johny Mositun had said Nurul Izzah was barred for only one day. Sabah state secretary Sukarti Wakiman got into the act when he confirmed that the ban on Nurul Izzah had been a one-off.

Sukarti was also quoted as saying that Nurul was denied entry for “security reasons”. Sigh. Wasn’t Nurul cautioned against bringing in guns, grenades and a cache of assorted weapons?

No wonder the Sabah authorities didn’t allow her in – she did pose a threat to the state!

Furthermore, Sukarti disputed reports that Anwar Ibrahim, S Ambiga, Rafizi Ramli and Lim Kit Siang were banned from entering Sabah.

I was mildly tickled when he said that there is no “permanent ban”.

So there is a one-off ban, a one-day ban, a temporary ban, a partial ban and so on, depending on the whims and fancies of the comedians that are managing the state. Sabah Pun Boleh!
