GE13 Results: Update 4

Nurul izzah Anwar, despite all odds stacked against her, vanquished her BN opponent Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin with his deep pockets to hold on tight to the Lembah Pantai federal seat (PKR – 31,008, BN – 29161, Majority – 1,847). Here, Malays make up the majority at 55 percent, while Chinese and Indians comprise 23 percent and 20 percent respectively.

In Kelantan, PAS still holds sway, winning 42 state seats thus far, according to unofficial counts. The state has a total of 45 seats.

BN looks set to govern the state of Malacca again, although caretaker chief minister Ali Rustam has failed to retain his Bukit Katil seat, losing by 44 votes.

Perkasa president and UMNO ally Ibrahim Ali lost in Pasir Mas, Kelantan – the seat is won by Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz from PAS (PAS – 33,431, IND – 25,384, Majority – 8,047).

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak defended his Pekan parliamentary seat in Pahang when he defeated PKR’s Fariz Musa with a majority of 35,613 votes.

MCA's Chua Tee Yong can thank his lucky stars when he scrapped through to win the Labis parliamentary seat (BN – 15,821, DAP – 15,468, Majority – 353).

In Penang, MCA candidate Loke Poh Chye wasn't just defeated but he lost his deposit too – a first for BN Penang! Eat dirt, MCA!
