I Love New PM Anwar

At the Dong Zong's Lunar New Year open house on Sunday morning, both Najib Razak and Anwar Ibrahim turned up to grace the occasion. But the former purposely arrived at the venue as early as 9:30 AM, forcing the hosts to bring forward the starting time of the event to 9:45 AM. And hardly forty-five minutes later, he left without fanfare.

I guess he wasn’t in the mood to meet Anwar lest he embarrasses himself again.

Anyway, Anwar made his entrance about an hour after Najib had scooted off. Supporters had cleverly amended the "I love PM" banners, which are a common sight at Najib's events – they added the words "new" and "Anwar", making the banners they carried read "I love new PM Anwar".

On Saturday, I was in Jalan Ampang to take up the role of Grammarian at the MIMKL Toastmasters meeting. I did a good job and my report was suffused with light-hearted banter.

But we were struck with despondency because two members announced that they will be leaving the club for good. Both Kemi and Salome will be returning to Nigeria and Botswana respectively.

Putting aside the gloom, we honestly had a good meeting. I would give it a score of a 7.5 out of a 10.

And on Sunday, I  attended the Shaklee Dynamic Family Toastmasters meeting where I delivered my CC speech #8 titled “Missing”. I didn’t think I did well although Rosa Phua gave me a kind evaluation.

It was a relatively quiet meeting and I would give it a score of a 3.5 out of a 10.
