Ubah Rocket Style

Riding on the “Oppa Gangnam Style” viral video hit, DAP has put out a parody of the Korean song to reach out to Malaysians who may not be familiar with the local politics. At least with this video, they get a peek into the disagreeable predicaments and disturbing disputes facing the country. And check out the Rosmah lookalike – she is just fabulous!

Talking about Rosmah – she continues to make the news. This time, PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli revealed that carpet trader and scoundrel Deepak Jaikishin (left) had supposedly paid RM13 million to purchase jewellery for her in 2008 and 2009. Deepak is said to have claimed that the purchase of 19 pieces of custom-made jewellery from two Hong Kong companies is part of alleged kickbacks to grease a land deal. Rafizi showed the press copies of transaction records, including one for a $115,000 purchase of polished diamonds from Dehres Ltd, a fine jewellery supplier from Hong Kong. Another document detailed transactions worth $3.9 million involving the purchases of rings, necklaces and earrings from Firestone Co Ltd, another Hong Kong-based fine jewellery supplier.

Rafizi also furnished documents that he had obtained through intermediaries from Deepak. The documents show that Deepak’s companies, Carpet Raya Sdn Bhd and Carpet Plus Sdn Bhd, had paid for the jewellery.  And he pointed out that one document even names Rosmah.

Based on preliminary checks, Rafizi said he believes the email communiques, invoices, account summaries and fund-transfer documents to be genuine.

So what are the authorities going to do about this? Sweep everything under Deepak’s carpets since he has plenty? Or get Deepak to furnish original copies of the documents and other proof. Then, start investigating. But in Malaysia, don't hold your breath. Nobody wants to do anything, nobody will do anything, nobody cares.
