Malaysia’s world number one, Nicol David, defeated Laura Massaro of England to win the Women’s World Open title on Friday.

It's a gargantuan feat because according to the competition’s official website, www.worldopensquash.com, the 29-year-old Penangite put up a sizzling performance to dismiss third seed Laura in just under half-an-hour.In the final held at Camana Bay in Cayman Islands at 9 PM local time (10 AM Malaysian time), David outclassed her opponent in straight sets of 11-6, 11-8 and 11-6.

With the win over Laura, the squash queen has created history of her own and women’s squash to win the world title for a seventh time. David had won the title in Hong Kong (2005), Northern Ireland (2006), England (2008), Egypt (2010) and twice in the Netherlands (2009 and 2011).

"I can't believe it," David said in an immediate reaction. "I just can't believe it"! Why not? You fully-deserved the victory because you have toiled all these years and pushed yourself to the max. You are a champion’s champion, Nicol David!
