Shafie Apdal, First-class Idiot

Did you hear about the Sabahan who doesn’t give a damn about Sabah? Shafie Apdal (left), the Malaysian Minister of Rural and Regional Development mocked the opposition’s promise to give back 20% royalty for its oil if it was voted to power in the coming GE13. He is saying Sabah shouldn’t take 20% “because it needs to share its wealth”. I am baffled, befuddled and bewildered.

Sabah only gets a measly 5% – why should 95% go to the non-oil producing states? What is wrong with Sabah asking for 20%? As a non-Sabahan, I really don’t get it!

Sabahans must ask the question: How much was taken from Sabah and how much was given in return? Look at Sabah today and judge for yourselves whether Sabah has been treated fairly, equitably and justly?

The present state that Sabah finds itself in is already lamentable. It has been branded the poorest state in the country, in spite of its immense natural resources. So if Shafie wants to be generous about sharing Sabah’s diminishing wealth with others, why won’t he start to share Sabah’s adversities as well? The prevailing poverty, the omnipresent illegal immigrants, the towering cost of living, the dearth of development and the list goes on. Shafie is a certified imbecile! A first-class idiot! Hasn't Sabah been receiving only crumbs all these years?

How did this happen, you may ask? Shafie is certainly not the only traitor. Sabah started to go downhill when its own home-grown PBS politicians turned traitors by joining UMNO. And once the door was prised open thieves, looters and ransackers only need to walk right in and take away everything in sight. And so, we should not be astonished if Sabah is impoverished. Yet, incredulously, Sabah chief minister, Musa Aman had the cheek to say the other night that Sabah has grown as a “progressive, prosperous, peaceful and stable state” under BN. This is a sick joke, right?

Anyway, let’s get serious. Isn’t it time Sabahans take back what rightfully belongs to them? What say you, Sabahans?
