Protest in Sydney, Candlelight Vigil in Kuantan

A group of Save Malaysia, Stop Lynas (SMSL) activists was in Australia to lobby against Lynas Corp. It was reported that at the Lynas’ AGM in Sydney on Tuesday, somebody posed a very interesting question. “What if the current Malaysian government is voted out in the next general election?”

The Australian company chairperson Nick Curtis Curtis evaded the question, saying that it was inappropriate for him to answer hypothetical questions.

Malaysians must know what to do, come GE13! This is another compelling reason why you should vote out BN! And then we can shutter Lamp for good!

Last night, an ad-hoc candlelight vigil at the Kuantan port in protest against Lynas Corp drew some 400 supporters and half as many abusive Mat Rempits heckling and taunting the anti-Lynas proestors. I guess we all know who instigated these bikers to create a ruckus!

Yesterday, I was in Setapak in a place called Platinum Walk in Taman Danau Kota where I was invited to be the General Evaluator for the One World Toastmasters meeting. As expected, I received a warm reception and the meeting was as always flowing with energetic enthusiasm. I was particularly impressed with Rachel Lee who did a CC # 8 speech “Get Comfortable with Visual Aids” because most times, speakers only use two visual aids – and sometimes only one – but she effectively demonstrated five visual aids in a 5-7 minute speech. A good meeting even though it took me at least an hour to reach the venue. I would score this meeting a 7.5 over 10.
