Green Walk updates. On Saturday, the motley crowd of walkers reached the Gombak toll and here, more Malaysians joined them, swelling their numbers to more than two thousand.

On Sunday, they marched into the city until they came to the police barricades. Their route to Dataran Merdeka had been blocked off by the authorities. They congregated along Jalan Raja and Wong Tack arrived at the scene at 5:30 PM. “We are not the last generation of this country; we will take responsibility, we will make the country better,” he told the cheering crowd.

The assembly, which at one point grew to about 20,000 people, then dispersed soon after, leaving about 300 marchers behind as at 6:00 PM. The remaining protestors had decided to stay overnight near Dataran Merdeka.
