Egg on the Face

Deputy Foreign Minister A Kohilan Pillay had egg on his face after saying the previous state government had nothing to do with the decision on the Batu Caves condo [Did you read my earlier post titled "Red-faced Indians" published October 28, 2012?] and then having to admit to Malaysiakini on Tuesday that yes, he was the local councillor when the decision was made but that he was not involved in the approval process.

Can Malaysians trust this sort of politician? He twists and turns as if he is a contortionist. Maybe his place is the circus, not the government!

The Rotary Club of Bandar Sunway organized a charity premiere screening of the twenty-third spy movie in the James Bond series, Skyfall last evening at TGV Cinemas in Sunway Pyramid and I got a ticket.

What a blistering rush! From the opening in Istanbul to the final siege shootout in the Scottish Highlands, this film is a supremely enjoyable and even sentimental spectacle. Truly, I can vouch that this 50th-anniversary outing is a Bond title that is licensed to thrill! Go watch it!

[For those who didn’t know, James Bond is the longest-running film franchise in history].

I love Daniel Craig's take on this super spy called Bond. He is the gritty hero who suffered pain. The dark and brooding 007 who is, after all, human. But more than that, he exudes class. Check out the scene when Craig's suited Bond leaps onto the back of a moving train that is being mutilated, ravaged and smashed from the rear.  As shaken passengers take cover from the mayhem, Bond, like a bat out of hell, stands up and, without missing a beat, manages to shoot his cuffs from under his suit sleeves.

The trend is not to like Daniel Craig. If there is a trend. :)
