Denial Turns to Admission

My blogpost dated October 27, 2012 on the four Orang Asli children being smacked by their teacher for not reciting the doa before a meal refers. Rural and Regional Development Minister Shafie Apdal on October 31, 2012 had denied that the incident occurred. The minister also denied that the children at SK Pos Bihai in Gua Musang – all non-Muslims – were taught Islamic studies without their parents’ consent.

Still the Kelantan Education Department and Department of Orang Asli Development (Jakoa) apologized to the family for the teacher’s injudiciousness last week. However, they tried to spin it by claiming that the children were told to pray – not necessarily in the Islamic way – as a form of good practice, which, of course, is poppycock!

And on Wednesday, Deputy Education Minister Wee Ka Siong finally said action is "under way" against the said teacher.

Why don’t we give Shafie and Wee two tight slaps each? These are the buffoons we have in government. And while we are at it, we should sack the teacher for abusing his charges. And then we should put his mug shot on facebook to shame him. He had brought the noble teaching profession into grave disrepute!

Canada’s Ron Josol and India’s Papa CJ (Times Magazine supposedly rated him as India’s No.1 stand-up comedian) made guest appearances – and that, folks, is a big bonus! [The duo were in Malaysia for the Kings & Queen of Comedy Asia 3 show].
