The Trumpet-blower

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz said that protection under the Whistleblower Act for persons leaking information on corruption will not apply to those exposing alleged abuse of government funds in the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) case.

This means that the Whistleblower Act is not what it is supposed to be. To come under the protection of this Act, a person intending to whistleblow cannot leak state secrets as specified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) including confidential financial information protected under Banking and Financial Institution Act (Bafia). [This explains why Rafizi Ramli, who blew the lid on the NFC case, has been charged under Bafia for disclosing the financial statements of the NFC].

Furthermore, he added that the act of whistleblowing must be done secretly. Hush-hush. You cannot shout it out; you can only whistleblow to an enforcement agency – and not the media – which of course, raises the suspicion that this ‘protection’ is only selective in nature! That’s why Nazri calls Rafizi a trumpet-blower because he went to the media to expose the NFC wrongdoing. UMNO didn't have a chance to hide the cattle under the proverbial carpet.

He even added that if Rafizi and gang do not understand about the secrecy element involved in the Whistleblower Act, they can approach him and seek his explanation as he is “the number one law minister” that no one can replace. Now, who is the trumpet-blower?! Please show a wee bit of understanding. He is blowing his own trumpet because no one wants to, that's why!

The Whistleblower Act is a sham. Period.

All the movie reviews I have read say Skyfall is a great movie! The best 007 movie of all time! Here’s the trailer to whet your appetite:
