The Dark Knight Rages

It is not unusual to experience grief when marking exam scripts – this semester was especially painful. Anyway, my head did go into a tailspin as I read, re-read and grade the said papers and now that this is finally over – I can’t wait to get my equilibrium-challenged head back into normal mode, if you know what I mean. And I was able to do so after watching this zany video clip of Batman – not once but three times – because it helped me lighten up after a period of self-imposed zombie-like existence! Yup, I do need to chill out to restore some semblance of sanity. I suggest those who share my predicament (i.e. my SUBS colleagues) to check out this clip too!

The last-minute withdrawal of a speaker at the Speecom Toastmasters meeting last evening allowed me to sneak in a speech – my fifth CC speech titled “The Actor”. I managed to develop a framework for this speech almost instantly and even wrote it down in all of six minutes. My evaluator, Mac Ng described the speech as “very good” when I presented it but honestly, I thought it was just so-so. What I liked about it though was the humor that I incorporated in the speech. Maybe, I could further develop this speech and use it for the coming Humorous Speech Contest? Maybe.

Anyway, it was a good meeting and I would score it an 8 out of a 10.
