Suu Kyi Makes Parliamentary Debut

Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi made her historic parliamentary debut Monday, marking a new phase in her near quarter century struggle to bring democracy to her army-dominated homeland. Finally, she has an opportunity to bring real democratic change.

Last evening, I was again at Cititel MidValley to attend the MidValley Toastmasters meeting. I was tasked with evaluating Keith Ho who delivered his Advanced speech from the Public Relations manual. I was pleased to note that he had shown improvement this time because the speech was interesting enough to hold my full attention.

Generally-speaking, the speeches and evaluations were cajoling and the meeting overall was engaging, even if it was a tad serious at times. Maybe Monday blues had something to do with it? I still enjoyed the meeting though and I am giving this meeting a score of a 7 out of a 10.
