KL Police Asks for Proof

City police yesterday displayed 49 mugshots of those suspected of “crimes” during Saturday's Bersih 3.0 rally but said no police officer have been identified yet despite the incessantly loud and growing accusations of rampant police brutality. What started out as a peaceful protest turned into a rampaging tempest when the men in blue went berserk and started pummeling protestors.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mohmad Salleh, when asked repeatedly about the allegations, indignantly responded: "Where is the proof? Show us. These are only allegations which must have proof"!

With brainless nincompoops like him helming the police force – no wonder the public has already lost all respect for the Royal Malaysian Police. Given their gross misbehavior, maybe we should drop the word ‘royal” since to keep it would be insulting the King! Who would want to be associated with thugs masquerading as law enforcers and yet shamelessly beating up the very people they were sworn to protect?

Yesterday, Sunway University Toastmasters Club organized their maiden meeting and it was a roaring success. We had fourteen experienced Toastmasters from other clubs (thank you!!!) taking on roles and our members readied themselves to learn as much as they can. There were five speakers, of which three were from the club itself, including me. Needless to say, all the five speeches and also the evaluations were wonderfully delivered. I would not be exaggerating if I make the claim that this was a great start for this new club because it had been an educational, entertaining and engrossing meeting! I would happily give this meeting a score of an 8 out of a 10.
