RCI Revelations 4

The RCI into Teoh Beng Hock’s untimely death revealed Tuesday that Teoh did not squat on the window ledge to jump as his head would have hit a window panel. This finding by Sallehuddin Muhamad, an associate professor in mechanical engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia was contrary to that concluded by Government forensic pathologist Dr Prashant Samberkar. The latter had testified earlier that Teoh likely squatted on the ledge before leaping to his death due to scratch marks on the soles of his shoes. He also explained that Teoh probably jumped to his death as he had landed on his feet, which was indicated by fractures on both feet. This was corroborated by another Government forensic pathologist Dr Khairul Azman Ibrahim who had similarly concluded that Teoh likely committed suicide.

But foreign forensic pathologists Dr Peter Vanezis and Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand had already contended that they could not determine if Teoh had jumped or was pushed out the window.

After all, why squat if indeed Teoh intended to jump? And why jump if he had said “I’ve nothing to hide”, and appearing cheerful and confident moments before he was taken in for questioning by the Selangor Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission? I am clear on the verdict, aren't you?
