Making a Police Report

After the price hike on cigarettes, drinkers too will have to fork out more money for beer and other alcoholic drinks, Nanyang Siang Pau reported on its front page on Monday. I certainly hope not – we’re already paying top ringgit for beers, etc. We shouldn’t lump cigarettes and alcoholic drinks together. Smoking kills and drinking refreshes! There is a difference, okay?

According to the Star (p N10) yesterday, BTN’s Hamim Husin has lodged a police report against The Malaysian Insider and reporter who he alleged wrote an article about topics discussed during a closed-door meeting. In fact, Perkasa had also taken the stand that Hamim was not wrong as it was said during a private event.

This news report wrote that Hamim emerged from Sentul police station on Monday and recited prayers alongside others who accompanied him before getting in a car and driving off. What’s this about people who just love to put on public display their piety? What I find frivolous is the fact that – if you look at the photo below – he’s wearing shades. I don’t know about you but to me, he’s thinking he is a celebrity and he’s putting on a show!
