Germans Booted Out

A second-half header from Spain’s Carles Puyol (73) secured a narrow victory over lackluster Germany. It was painful to witness the latter adopting an increasingly deep defensive line as the match wore on. Yes, it was a game where Spain controlled huge periods of the match and Germany failing to take the game to their opponents. So, the former deservingly won their fourth straight game 1-0 and will now play the Netherlands in Sunday’s final.

What can I say? I'm still in a daze. I'm dismayed. I'm disappointed. Now, I will pick the Netherlands to beat Spain, I suppose.

The Penans were featured in my blog last year. Even as I post this entry, they continue to be alienated and marginalized. The Sun yesterday reported Tuesday, the Penan Support Group (PSG) which is a coalition of 36 NGOs, released their report on the sorry plight of the Penans at Parliament – it describes the ordeals of their womenfolk and their communities and says seven more victims of sexual abuse are coming forward to seek justice (p 4). I pray that this time, the Sarawak authorities can be compelled to investigate these cases and that action will be taken against the perpetrators.
