St. Patrick's Day Celebration

Yesterday, the Fund collected RM23, to bring the total to RM1,411. And the posters for the HICT charity concert are up in the college itself. Let's hope sales of tickets pick up after this.

And fourteen of us descended on Finnegan’s at MidValley to make merry St. Patrick’s Day. We drank stout, beer and vodka. Or to use branding language, we drank Guinness, Carlsberg, and Skyy. Great company and great celebration.

Also in Parliament yesterday, Anwar Ibrahim (Permatang Pauh MP) highlighted the weaknesses of the Malaysian economy, blaming it on the government's dependency for pump priming measures, over reliance on petro dollars, the widening pblic-private investment gap, and capital flight in the country. He said Najib's insistence that "the worst is over" was a stark contrast to the bleakness of the country's present economic status. Many Malaysians like me will readily agree with this austere assessment because so far, there is nothing to cheer us during these trying times, only concerns about our own futures that remain obstinately unanswered.
