Ralph Lauren's Stick Figure

I find this hilarious! I was checking out boingboing.net and came across this amusing report that is a real scream! According to this gut-busting write-up, and which I am reproducing here (Refer to http://boingboing.net/2009/10/06/the-criticism-that-r.html), in September, Xeni Jardin blogged about the photoshop disaster that is a Ralph Lauren advertisement, in which a model's proportions appear to have been altered to give her an impossibly skinny body ("Dude, her head's bigger than her pelvis"). Naturally, Xeni reproduced the ad in question. This is classic fair use: a reproduction “for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting,” etc.
.
However, Ralph Lauren's marketing arm and its law firm don't see it that way. According to them, this is an “infringing image,” and they thoughtfully took the time to send a DMCA takedown notice to our awesome ISP, Canada's Priority Colo. One of the things that makes Priority Colo so awesome is that they don't automatically act on DMCA takedowns. Instead, they pass them on to us and we talk about whether they pass the giggle-test.
.
This one doesn't.
.
So, instead of responding to their legal threat by suppressing our criticism of their marketing images, we're gonna mock them. Hence this post.
.
So, to Ralph Lauren, GreenbergTraurig, and PRL Holdings, Inc: sue and be damned. Copyright law doesn't give you the right to threaten your critics for pointing out the problems with your offerings.
.
You should know better. And every time you threaten to sue us over stuff like this, we will:

a) Reproduce the original criticism, making damned sure that all our readers get a good, long look at it, and;
.
b) Publish your spurious legal threat along with copious mockery, so that it becomes highly ranked in search engines where other people you threaten can find it and take heart; and
.
c) Offer nourishing soup and sandwiches to your models.
.

Anyway, I am also reproducing the YouTube video clip of Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show (October 09, 2009) that spotlighted this talked-about and badly photoshopped Ralph Lauren ad which morphed the said model into a lollipop-headed stick figure. Let’s celebrate this absurdity, this silliness, this farce!

.
Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, no less an UMNO statesman had this morning declared: “A win by Isa would translate into an endorsement of corruption-as-usual within the party (i.e. UMNO) and the government that it leads. For the good of the party, the dignity of the Malay community it claims to represent and for the sake of the nationwide reform in governance and politics that we must undergo, it would be better if UMNO lost today, and use the loss to begin internal reform” (Razaleigh.com). Well, Isa won and life will go on as usual.
.
Najib is already flexing his muscles. Today, The Malaysian Insider reported that Najib dropped some not-so-subtle hints that embattled MCA president, Ong Tee Keat should step down. The prime minister told a press conference that since the EGM was the highest meeting authority in any party structure, the MCA leadership was confined to accepting the results of yesterday’s contentious meeting. In the EGM, Ong (sorry, no relation!) lost the confidence motion by 1155 against 1141 votes, a wafer-thin majority of 14 votes. (Webpage
