Celtic and Liverpool Lose Again

In the SPL, two first-half goals by Kenny Miller help Rangers to a hard-fought victory over spirited Celtic in the first Old Firm match of the season. Celtic could only reply with a solitary McGeady goal which came from a penalty (25). Celtic huffing and puffing but are lacking the invention to pierce the Rangers defense in the second-half. Final score: Rangers 2 Celtic 1.

Well, Arsenal gave us reason to cheer! They produced a clinical performance to hammer Blackburn 6-2. Rovers struck first when Steven Nzonzi headed in from Paul Robinson's free-kick before Thomas Vermaelen (17) lashed in a 20-yard drive to level. David Dunn made it 2-1 to Rovers with a deflected shot before Robin van Persie coolly slotted home from 12 yards (33). Andrey Arshavin's low shot (37) put Arsenal ahead before Cesc Fabregas volleyed in (57), Theo Walcott slotted home (75) and Nicklas Bendtner's drive sealed the romp (89).

And in the other EPL match, Liverpool once again came out the loser, this time to Chelsea with an unflattering 0-2 score. After Frank Lampard robbed Javier Mascherano, Didier Drogba charged down the left flank and crossed for Anelka to score against his former club (60). And in injury time, Drogba pulled the ball back from the right-hand touchline for Malouda to seal Chelsea's win (90+1). It was a game that the Reds should have won, but alas, we lacked focus...
